What We Do?

GAIAP focuses its research activities on developing and evaluating innovative interventions aimed at disease prevention and health promotion, addressing the priority health needs of the population.

Our ultimate goal is to improve community health and well-being through high-quality research in Primary Care.

PHC

Promote, design and conduct high-quality research projects in the field of Primary Health Care (PHC).

Health

Assess the implementation of disease prevention and health promotion activities in Primary Health Care services, identifying the factors that facilitate or hinder their integration into routine practice.

Training

Strengthen researchers’ skills and competencies through training, enhance the quality of research projects, and encourage international research placements and exchanges.

Research Collaboration

Foster synergies between research groups by establishing an organisational framework that promotes collaboration at regional, national and international levels.

Research Infrastructure

Provide the infrastructure needed to conduct research that takes into account the demographic characteristics and geographical distribution of the population of Aragon.

Funding and Sustainability

Ensure financial sustainability by actively securing European funding and other financial resources to support the group’s long-term development.

Research Areas

The primary objective is to conduct excellent research within primary care to improve population health, reduce inequalities, promote innovative interventions, and facilitate the translation of research into clinical practice and society.

Some key areas of research

A cross-cutting approach across all our research.

All of GAIAP’s research areas share a commitment to health equity, a gender perspective, and the sustainability of the healthcare system. In our projects, we account for social inequalities and the diverse needs of the population to design interventions that are fairer, more accessible, and tailored to specific contexts. Furthermore, we evaluate the cost-effectiveness of interventions, the feasibility of their implementation, and the sustainability of the healthcare system, with the goal of ensuring that our findings can be applied in practice and contribute to a more efficient and sustainable healthcare system.
